Graham Evans RIP

For those who have not already heard, I have the sad news to pass on that Graham Evans passed away on 16th July. Many of you will not have known Graham but he played for the Askean Club at both rugby and cricket representing the county. He was also an excellent athlete and an all-round top bloke.

For those who wish to pay their respects, Evvy’s funeral will be held on Wednesday 9th August at 1:45 at Bluebell Crematorium near Knockholt, TN14 7AE. The wake will be held at Bromley Football Club, Hayes Lane, BR2 9EF. If you have not already let me know that you will be attending, please let me know asap so adequate catering can be provided.

Askean Rugby Club – Former Players Lunch

Following on from my earlier e-mail reporting the sad passing of our ex-player Graham Evans, people always say “Why do we only meet up at funerals?” Well, now is your chance to see eachother  on a happier occasion. Following on from the success of last year’s FP Lunch, we are holding another gathering at The Rectory Field on Friday 25th August from noon.

Everyone is welcome to have a beer and a curry in the convivial surrounding of The Rectory Field, the Home of Askean RFC where we are the only male rugby team to hold home matches. Bar prices are very reasonable and the food is great as well as being exceptional value, so what better opportunity to meet up with old friends and wallow in nostalgia over a beer or three.

If you know anyone who may be interested in attending who is not on our mailing list, please pass on the good news. This is a celebration of our past and current friendships and a chance to share an ale

Please contact me if you are able to attend
